Recently, our Colchester showroom buzzed with excitement as students from Southview School, through the Ductu initiative, stepped through our doors. This collaboration offers a unique glimpse into the home improvement industry while supporting students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, in their career exploration journey.
The Impact of Ductu's Partnership
Ductu aims to bridge the gap between students and employers, focusing especially on those with disabilities or special educational needs. Their S.E.N.D. (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) program facilitates engaging activities like workplace visits and hands-on experiences. During this visit, Pete Wheeler, our Managing Director, welcomed four eager students, sharing insights from his own career. He highlighted the importance of mentorship and emphasized, "We all have a responsibility to the next generation." These words don’t just reflect a philosophy; they resonate with our commitment to nurturing future talent.
A Day of Discovery at the Showroom

The students explored various displays in our showroom, showcasing over 50 window and door designs, learning about innovative home transformation projects, and even getting a sneak peek into the installation processes.
